Business computing is the application different technologies to meet business information needs. Graduates are prepared for careers in the world of business, working on technical or computing-related issues or in the IT field.
The course is deeply rooted within the workplace. Faculty members from the fields of engineering and business partners offer their expertise on real-world business challenges. You will be able to tackle real-world briefs, which apply your technical skills to real-world issues. You will acquire a broad range of business and IT capabilities over the course including developing software applications and learning to analyse data, with the aim of providing innovative solutions to businesses.
In your first year, you’ll study subjects like accounting and marketing and gain hands-on with the most current IT and computing technologies. You’ll develop your IT and business skills in preparation for your placement year which can be either on-campus or at one of the many partner organisations throughout Kent and London. Upon graduation, you’ll have the unique combination of IT and business expertise that could lead you to a variety of careers, such as web development, software development, helpdesk support and data analytics. Alumni of the program have been employed by companies such as Accenture, BP, FDM and Spotify.
